Our Story
From humble beginnings to Yorkshire's leading organic farm
Our Journey
Trick Champ Farm was founded in 1985 by the Thompson family with just 15 acres of land and a vision to grow food the way nature intended. What began as a small operation selling vegetables at local markets has grown into one of Yorkshire's most respected organic farms.
Through the early years, we faced the challenges that many small-scale farmers encounter – unpredictable weather, economic pressures, and the rising dominance of industrial agriculture. But our commitment to organic, sustainable methods never wavered.
In 2005, we achieved full organic certification for our entire operation, a milestone that marked our dedication to producing food without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. That same year, we launched our farm box delivery service, bringing our fresh produce directly to homes across Yorkshire.
Today, Trick Champ Farm spans 150 acres of fertile Yorkshire countryside. We've expanded beyond vegetables to include fruits, heritage grains, free-range eggs, and dairy from our grass-fed cows. Our team has grown too, with passionate individuals who share our values of sustainability, biodiversity, and community connection.
Our Core Values
The principles that guide everything we do
Sustainability
We farm in harmony with nature, nurturing the soil and protecting biodiversity. Our methods regenerate rather than deplete natural resources, ensuring that our land remains fertile for generations to come.
Quality
We believe that food grown with care tastes better and nourishes more deeply. We never compromise on quality, selecting the best varieties and harvesting at peak ripeness to ensure maximum flavor and nutrition.
Community
We see our customers, suppliers, and team members as part of an extended family. By supporting local economies and creating meaningful connections, we build a resilient food system that benefits everyone.
Transparency
We believe in honest, open relationships. From our farming methods to our business practices, we share information freely and welcome dialogue with our community about how we operate and why.
